For one of my first assignments in 3D Computer Graphics we were told to conceptualize a hover car, largely based on 40s and 50s era cars. We weren't supposed to do heavy texturing in Maya, instead compositing the car in Photoshop. I based my car mostly on the 57 Chevy Bel Air, as it's my favorite car, and has an interesting style to it. For ease of compositing, I block modeled a set for my car so it would feel more present in the composition than it would have by building the set from scratch in Photoshop.
